Frequently Asked Questions
What's the process involved in working with a sleep coach?
After you complete a comprehensive questionnaire about your child’s sleep habits and routines, I will have all the information to create a sleep plan that is customized to fit your child. I will then schedule a 1-1 phone consultation to go through your step-by-step sleep plan so you have a clear path to success. Once you begin executing the sleep plan, I will make sure you never feel alone or stuck during the process. You will receive live, personal support from me for 2-3 weeks (varies between packages), where I review your sleep tracker daily and provide feedback using text message, email and scheduled phone calls. This support is the KEY to my clients' success.
Do I need to leave my child to Cry-It-Out?
No! While most books and programs dealing with child sleep issues are based largely around the “crying it out” method, I believe in being supportive to your child while giving them the independence to naturally learn to fall asleep on their own. That’s why the Sleep Sense™ Methods I use in my sleep plans are parent present and responsive to your child. I would never ask to leave your child alone to cry. The reason that my plans are so effective is that it lets you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.
Am I guaranteed success?
My custom sleep plans and personalized support are extremely effective. Success relies on commitment to the plan and the process. Following as close as possible to my gentle, sleep recommendations will bring you the same success so many families have benefited from. Constant communication during the sleep plan implementation ensures progress is on track to reach success. Along the way, I will ensure changes are made as needed to continue to see positive results in your child's sleep. My goal is to leave clients feeling relieved and satisfied with the progress their child has made. The most common feedback I receive is, "I wish we had invested in this sooner!"

When can I begin sleep training my baby?
I work with parents with children from 0-6 years of age with age appropriate sleep goals that are catered to each child and family. The primary focus for babies under 4 months of age is to set up healthy sleep habits so they help shape their sleep success for the future.
Will I need to stop breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding is the primary source of nutrition for babies under 1 years of age. I encourage and promote moms to continue to breastfeed/bottle feeding/formula feeding during the implementation of your custom sleep plan and will include an individualized feed routine.
Will my child cry?
Probably. Crying is your child’s way of communicating and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will will inadvertently bring on some frustration because they haven't yet figured out what's going on. It usually also indicates a child's level of sleep depbt. Change is never easy, but health-benifiting sleep is worth it and they'll be set for years to come! With consistency and dedication to following the sleep plan, progress will happen quickly.
